Roos Pot-Kolder is a clinical psychologist specialized in virtual reality therapy since 2012. In addition to her clinical work she is a PhD-candidate on the topic '‘Virtual reality for research and treatment of psychosis’.
Roos will talk about: 'Healthy (virtual) coping strategies' related to the anxiety and stress that can trigger fighting, flight, and freezing behavior. This can put people in survival mode and, for example, start looting, hoarding and/or come up with all kinds of doomsday scenarios that actually cause even more fear and stress. This is a downward spiral that does not contribute to human health and well-being.
Every week we the vCoaching team of Educators in VR will invite guests to speak for 10-20 minutes, to talk about how they help people in these times of crisis. After that, we will have a Q&A and Dana-Maria founder of CaptainVR, vCoaching Team Leader, opens the floor for discussion on fears and anxieties in your life and in this time of anxiety and stress. Dana-Maria and her guests will share tools, techniques, and tips for managing your stress level and encouraging positive decision-making, and your input is welcome. How are you coping?
Would you like to join this event but you don't know how or would you like to be one of the guest speakers? Join the vCoaching and Personal Development channel on Discord for more information.
This is an open discussion not a therapy session.
Educators in VR hosts weekly workshops on Tuesday and workshops, classes, and trainings throughout the week in AltspaceVR and hosts a variety of events in ENGAGE, rumii, Mozilla Hubs, and more.
